Cultural "Rites of Passage" and Youth Leadership Programs

CULTURAL "RITES OF PASSAGE" PROGRAM

The "Rites of Passage" Program is the traditional inter-generational transmission of the culture and collective memory of a people through customs, practices, ceremonies and rites.  "Rites of Passage" suggest travel or passage from one stage of development to another.  These "rites" are markers of one's advancement in knowledge, maturity, understanding and wisdom.

ritesIn traditional societies "rites of passage" are performed at adolescence to initiate the young (female/male) into adulthood.  Those who embark on this journey understand that the first step to making a social change is to "Know Thyself", and importance is placed on studying information relative to the local and global experience.

The Journey introduces participants to the highest level of intellectual, cultural, moral, philosophical and spiritual principles of effective leadership.  It is also an introduction into a critical-thinking, debate and cultural study group called the Great Debate Honor Society

YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

"After looking into several Leadership programs for my son I decided to enroll Logan into an 8 week Youth Leadership Program with Make It Plain Consulting. Logan received one on one training with Tommie Lewis and he absolutely loved it, every week he looked forward to the sessions. I sat in on a few sessions and I was highly impressed how methodical Tommie was in everything he taught Logan. I received an extremely detailed report of every session which was especially useful. During this 8 weeks course Logan became more in tune with himself, internalizing the reasons behind all of his actions good or bad and recognized his strengths as well as his weaknesses. Logan learned the importance of setting personal goals, what it means to be a leader and what it takes to attain his goals. Most importantly Logan walked away with leadership skills that will last a life time and I highly recommend this course for any youth."
