Amy Spicher, Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Mason City School District

"Dear Tommie (Make It Plain Consulting), I can't begin to thank you enough for your willingness to share your morning with our freshmen at Mason High School.  I was so touched by the integrity and kindness that you showed to our students.  Thanks for honoring their questions and for creating a new awareness in them around diversity and inclusiveness.  Thanks for such a powerful, positive role model for all of us."

Example Project:

Workforce Development

Make It Plain was asked to provide a five-month training series for the client’s professional staff.  The training focused on enhancing the staff's Cultural Competency, Trust Building and Emotional Intelligence.  The professional staff consisted of the university's Directors and Deans of Students, Campus Counseling, Events and Scheduling, Campus Safety, Student Activities, Campus Nurse, Campus Minister, Administrative Assistant, Residence Life, Career Planning and Academic Support Services.  The result of our work enabled the professional staff to begin leveraging Emotional Intelligence and Diversity competencies for improving interdepartmental communications and productivity while addressing issues facing its diverse student population.  Make It Plain was also able to identify diversity skills gaps within the leadership and address competence requirements to enhance inter-office relations and student relations.
